Frequently Asked Questions
Do you book our Airbnb, Hotels, or Plane Tickets?
No, I do not do any booking of any kind. This allows you full control over your accommodations and saves you money as I would not have to add additional charges on top of the cost of said booking. I will assist you in finding places to stay that meet your needs and can guide you in the booking process.
Is Japan Safe ?
Japan has crime as all places do but statistically it has lower crime than most of the world, and I have never felt safer than I have in Japan.
How far in advance should I start planning my trip?
Honestly, as far in advance as possible. I suggest booking as soon as possible as you can often get discounts on airfare or hotels if you book far enough in advance. I have found I can typically book about 9 months in advance so I suggest booking with me as soon as possible so I can help you find the best deals.
Do you offer Japanese Lessons?
No, I currently will only teach you basic greetings and some common phrases used for shopping, emergencies and other simple travel needs. I am currently studying to take the JLPT 2 test next year and do not plan to offer full Japanese lessons but can introduce my clients to tutors I have worked with before who are very good.
Are your Prices Per Person?
No, I charge by the number of days and not the number of people. I do not recommend using my service for large groups like class trips as most place such as museums and temples have special requirements for such groups.
Do you offer discounts for military, students, or seniors ect.?
No, I do not have any way of verifying ID’s or legitimate status of such claims. i might down the road have discounts for returning customers or on special occasions.
Do they really have “Squat Toilets” still?
Yes, in some of the more rural parts of Japan they still have squat toilets. they are working on upgrading to more modern toilets and do have what we in the west consider a standard toilet in most major cities public restrooms.
Why are you only offering 1 guided tour in 2024 and 1 guided tour in 2025?
I am only offering one until the end of this year because I have arrange leave from my primary job for a week. this needs some notice and there is not a lot of time left in this year that I would advise traveling to Japan due to the holidays. as for next year someone has already booked me for a 9 day in person tour so I will only have 1 more available. I limit these so I am not away from my family or my job too much.
